Choose by terminal and concourse, not just “Dubai airport”. Dubai International Hotel is in Terminal 3; sleepover has locations in T3 A, B and C and T1 D. DXB and DWC are different airports.

Do not confuse airline lounges with general paid access
Dubai Airports lists several lounge operators. Admission, concourse and facilities depend on the actual product; an Emirates-branded lounge and an Ahlan booking are not interchangeable.
Start with entitlement
Check your ticket, airline status or card programme for the lounge it names and the departure area it covers. Do not infer access from the cabin used on a previous flight or from a generic lounge logo in an airport search result.
Ahlan as a specific shortlist
The airport lists Ahlan lounges in Terminal 3. Open the current listing and confirm the concourse, paid-access terms and what is included. If you need a shower or a longer stay, ask about that explicitly before paying.
A family activity may be a better fit
If children mainly need to move, the B-Gates Family Zone is an alternative to sitting in a lounge when it is on your accessible route. Compare your real need with the total admission price for the group, not just one adult’s rate.
Before leaving for a lounge, check the gate display again. A lounge booking should follow the departure route, not determine it.

Choose the route for your itinerary. Public road directions do not describe restricted airport corridors.
DXB terminals and concourses
Airline-directed terminal transferTransfer details
T3 has A, B and C concourses; T2 needs its own transfer instructions. Confirm the route with the airline or an airport Guest Experience Ambassador. A public map cannot establish that you are allowed through a particular airside route.
DXB ↔ DWC
Taxi or planned public-transport journeyTransfer details
Dubai Airports instructs passengers changing airports to clear passport control, collect baggage and arrange onward transport. A taxi is the direct option. Check current public-transport connections before choosing them, especially overnight. Do not assume that a temporary free airport shuttle advertised for a past runway closure still operates.
Know before you settle in
Leave bags at the right arrivals desk
Dubai Airports currently lists 24/7 short-term storage in Terminals 1, 2 and 3. In T1, find dnata baggage services on the Arrivals level near Boots and Etisalat. In T3, Emirates Left Luggage is on Arrivals near Exit 1, behind Boots. These arrivals facilities require public-side access; confirm acceptance and charges for your particular bags.
Official information ↗Checked 2026-10-20The Metro is not an overnight service
The Red Line serves DXB Terminals 1 and 3. Dubai Airports publishes network operating hours of 05:00–midnight Monday–Thursday and Saturday, 05:00–01:00 Friday, and 08:00–midnight Sunday. These are not the last departures from your airport platform. Check RTA journey planning for your station, direction and date, and budget for a taxi when trains are unavailable.

Personal checklist & offline guide
Your personal checklist
Choose what applies to your trip. Progress stays on this device for DXB. Checking an item is your own reminder, not an access approval.
A standalone HTML file with your checklist, transfer instructions, facility locations and source notes. It needs no app or login to read offline. Save it before travelling. It contains a snapshot of your ticks; download again after updates.
Choosing a lounge at DXB
Choose by terminal and concourse, not just “Dubai airport”. Dubai International Hotel is in Terminal 3; sleepover has locations in T3 A, B and C and T1 D. DXB and DWC are different airports.
Compare the visit, not just the entry price
Open the linked listing for the location you can access. Check the admission route (airline, card, membership or paid booking), the permitted stay, child fees and whether capacity restrictions apply.
Need a shower rather than a long stay?
Ask whether a shower is included, separately paid or subject to a queue. A shower-only package can serve a different need from a full lounge visit. Leave enough time to reach your next gate afterwards.
Keep the right terminal in focus
Dubai World Central (DWC) is not another terminal at DXB. A change of airport requires landside transport and appropriate entry permission.
A few useful answers
What is the most common booking mistake at DXB?
Dubai World Central (DWC) is not another terminal at DXB. A change of airport requires landside transport and appropriate entry permission.
Can I use facilities in another terminal?
Use the terminal and concourse on your onward boarding pass. A connection involving Terminal 2 needs its own transfer instructions; do not assume all facilities in Terminal 3 are available to every DXB passenger.
Are opening hours and prices guaranteed?
No. Use the airport or operator’s current information for your travel date. Prices, availability and access rules may change.
Can I leave the airport during my connection?
Before going into Dubai, confirm entry permission, bag arrangements and the transport service for the time of day. An overnight layover does not guarantee public transport is running.
